In a short period of time, Savages have picked up a reputation for putting on a live show filled with moments of coiled intensity and impassioned release, so it makes sense that the band is putting its best foot forward by incorporating a bunch of live footage into the video for “Shut Up,” a track off its upcoming album, Silence Yourself, which comes out May 7 via Matador.
 
I saw Savages perform at the Mercury Lounge during CMJ, and this video does a pretty great job of capturing the experience: spine-busting bass, throttling drums and singer Jehnny Beth delivering each line with a wide-eyed stare that will haunt your dreams. I could go on, but, in the spirit of the song, I’ll just shut up. Watch the video below.
