Chairlift frontwoman Caroline Polacheck is coming out with a solo album that she recorded entirely on a laptop in Rome. It’s called Arcadia, and it’s coming out this spring on Terrible Records. She’s already released the horror-church title track, and now we’re getting the album’s second single, Backwards And Upwards, in the form of a lyric video. Whereas Arcadia was glitchy and instrumental, Backwards And Upwards features Polacheck’s smoothly far-reaching vocals and just a hint of artificial computer clash. Listen to it below, with this kind-of-dizzying tumble animation, prominently featuring a pair of knees.
