Montreal’s Purity Ring has finally released an official music video for “Lofticries,” over a year past the song’s internet debut. Purity Ring recruited AG Rojas (Jack White’s “Sixteen Saltines,” Spiritualized’s “Hey Jane”) to direct it. The video takes on a creepy, abstract and almost nightmarish tone, shifting through the lives of several different protagonists. According to a press release, the concept behind the surreal clip covers a “feverish dream of vast ideas: conception, birth, sickness, death.” See for yourself:

Purity Ring is also launching a Northeastern tour early next year in support of its latest 4AD release, Shrines. They will be accompanied by Brooklyn-based electronic group Young Magic.
