In May Mount Kimbie released their sophomore LP and follow-up to 2010′s Crooks And Lovers, Cold Spring Fault Less Youth. One of the album’s stronger cuts, You Took Your Time, has received a video treatment from Swedish director Marcus Söderlund. The video drifts between the lives of kids living on the outskirts of London: people who have difficulty finding places to escape to.

Known for his use of black and white color schemes, Söderlund pieces together seemingly random sequences in people’s lives. King Krule’s conscious, almost off-the-cuff lyrics add another layer to the already wispy song. On the whole, the video feels distant; the viewer gets a glimpse into the lives of others, but even when glaring directly into the camera it feels as though they are looking past you.
