julie-ruin
Kathleen Hanna has been extremely active in her musical pursuits for decades, and her newest project, The Julie Ruin, has shown that she has no plans of stopping anytime soon. The Bikini Kill and Le Tigre frontwoman just released a video, directed by Sally Cinnamon, that shows her and the rest of The Julie Ruin goofing around and performing their retro-pop track, Goodnight, Goodbye in charmingly grainy, Super 8 style footage. It’s a fun, youthful video for a song that’s about the inevitability of aging and fear of losing that sneer that seemed to live on your face as a teenager. It’s also a stylistic departure from the super-vibrant accompaniment to the group’s garage-punk anthem, Oh Come On. Check out the video, as well as the band’s tour dates (some of which are with New Brunswick’s Screaming Females) below.
