jail-weddings-you-are-never-going-to-find-me
L.A.’s mavens of melancholic mayhem, Jail Weddings, laid down their fourth album, Meltdown: A Declaration Of Unpopular Emotion, back in late August, and we’ve got a premiere of the latest video from that epic batch. This time around, head Jailer, Gabriel Hart, leaves the lead vocals and the acting chops to the ladies of his eight-piece gang, and they pour out their hearts and probably some ex-’s blood all over this wonderful doo-wop march. Even when the band-lads show up to the party there’s a “No Boys Allowed” sign on the door. So there.

Due to sometimes stilted distribution and a large lineup not conducive to loads of cross-country touring, Hart doesn’t often get the props he should for making consistently sky-high swelling tunes (think Gun Club meets Nicholas Ray) since back to his days fronting the woefully under-appreciated Starvations. (Oh, and he’s an author too, with two noir novels coming next year.) Hopefully some of that changes with the excellent new album and a brief west coast tour that starts today. Check the video and tour dates below.
