Gainesville’s Hundred Waters have released a striking and sort of frightening video for “Boreal,” a song off of last year’s self-titled debut. Set to the gentle swirl of pretty electronics and the charming beauty of singer Nicole Miglis’s voice, the video begins with bucolic, grainy footage of a tropical paradise. It quickly descends into the interaction between a young boy and a man dressed in a giant Wampa-looking costume. There’s a graphic dinosaur hatching, a knife fight and some mermaids. The whole thing manages to be endearing and really creepy at the same time, thanks to direction from Borscht Corp.
