If you’ve got time for a 22-minute acid ride, Dan Deacon may very well have exactly what you need. But fair warning: watching this at work may result in passerby questioning your sobriety. Directed by Dave Hughes, the music video for the expansive “USA” song suite takes viewers across classic scenes of good ol’ ‘merica. We commend Deacon for his impeccable timing. America was released last year during the same week as the Republican National Convention and today’s video was released right before Independence Day. U-S-A! U-S-A!

If you don’t have a spare 22 minutes to watch the new music video, we took the time to watch it for you. The clip opens with a picturesque view of mountains at sunrise that quickly turns into a technicolor, glitchy blast of nature with mountain rams, deer, and wolves running amuck. City scenes soon take over and then melt into a Tron-like world, which then bleeds into a dance number performed by naked Sumo wrestler-looking women. Tractors, cowboys, chocolate bars, amusement parks, and fake Chewbaccas also make an appearance. The video’s real highlight though, is when a swarm of birds starts sky-moshing and forms its own sky-wall of death. The track builds to a dramatic grandeur as the video comes full circle, closing with the same mountain view we started with, but at sunset. Phew. You can also check out the video below.
