New York swirl-pop quintet Caveman’s new video for the single “In The City” begins with what looks like a casual scene from a lighthearted French New Wave flick—Julia Stiles and Fran Kranz do a lot of smiling and gawking—but the clip quickly hooks you in with dark complexity and dread. It’s like a season of American Horror Story, but with a more upbeat soundtrack.

The lyrics of the single, from the band’s recent self-titled album, make for the perfect soundtrack for a couple’s breezy walk in the park. But the video’s psycho-noir aesthetic gives a whole new connotation to frontman Matthew Iwanusa’s delivery of, “Seems like we want to always go/I don’t want to leave home.” Watch and be unnerved, below.
