Earlier this summer, Big Black Delta, the solo project of Mellowdrone vocalist and bassist Jonathan Bates, released its eponymous sophomore LP. Today, the dance-friendly “Money Rains Down,” has received an accompanying video.
 
The first half of the clip is centered around a chair. As the track’s infectious melody and hypnotic bass-line soar, inspired background dancers clad in green-screen suits dance emphatically around a seated Bates. And yet, despite the dancers’ valiant efforts, Bates is reluctant to get jiggy with it. So the dancers proceed to drastic measures: a giant foot literally smashes the chair from beneath Bates’ behind. Once Bates strays from his comfort zone and struts his stuff, the video turns into a full fledged dance party. Check out the video for “Money Rains Down,” below.
