Starting in November, pioneering electro-rock band VNV Nation will hit the road in support of its upcoming LP, Automatic, which comes out September 27 on Anachron America. The tour for the group, whose 1999 breakthrough, Empires, is still a landmark for the genre, kicks off in Los Angeles and winds all throughout the middle and northern U.S. before wrapping up at the Masquerade in Atlanta. Right now, members Ronan Harris and Mark Jackson are in the studio, putting the finishing touches on what will be their eighth studio album. Ronan says in a press release that he and Jackson have worked to give this release a more unified theme than previous ones, with a concept that marries the industrialization of late-1930s America with the technology of today. If they pull it off, this might just be the most historically literate music ever to be made with the dance floor in mind, but until the record sees the light of day, you’ll just have to be satisfied with checking out the dates for VNV Nation’s winter tour.
