Lo Phi, aka Justin Ford, is an Austin-based producer specializing in thumping, spaced-out hip-hop. His first LP of instrumentals, Slamma Jamma, was released in January via Insect. Today CMJ is premiering the first video for a cut off of that stellar beat tape for the song “Fall N Float.”
 
The sample-laden track combines an old-school jazz break with some smooth chords and a hazy purple lead. Keeping with the style of Lo Phi’s misty and layered production, the video coats the producer in blurs and phosphorescent trails as he takes a mellow stroll. Check it out below.
