Yesterday the San Diegan five-piece Cuckoo Chaos released its debut album, Woman, on Lefse, and today we premiere the band’s video for “Jamb Song.” The clip, created by Don Cheney, plays out like a saucy black-and-white comic (“Have you/ever had two womans [sic]/at the same time?”) and features a man who holds a serious resemblance to Tom Selleck circa Three Men And A Baby (see: 00:37).

Characters play out scenes according to Cuckoo Chaos’ riddle-me-this lyrics. “Got your itty-bitty heart/In the palm of a pocket/Underneath my skirt,” is on some wacky “The Walrus And The Carpenter” tip, which moves the narrative along in a nicely nonsensical way. We’re still confused about what happened.

Cuckoo Chaos plays the Official Windish Agency CMJ Showcase on Friday, October 21, at the Mercury Lounge alongside Gauntlet Hair, Small Black and more. We view this as an opportune time to query the boys on the mystery of their lyrics.
