London’s newest band of guitar-rock sweethearts, the Vaccines, will be making its way to North American this spring and summer in support of its acclaimed spring release, What Did You Expect From The Vaccines? (Columbia). The band will be supporting Arctic Monkeys. Along with the dates listed below, the group will be playing some 30 or so festivals around the world this summer, including Ibiza Rocks and Glastonbury. The band’s debut effort is topping the charts in the U.K., making it only a matter of time before it catches on around here.
Though the band is only a year old, it has already built itself a crazed fan base. This is most impressive because the group allegedly didn’t even have a website established by the time it sold out its first hometown show or received the honors of the Guardian‘s “New Band Of The Day” back in October. That sold-out show was apparently a 300-person venue where 200 sad faces had to be turned down due to overcrowding.
