The Kills have released their first single, “Satellite,” off their newest LP, Blood Pressures. It’s the latest from the UK duo of Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince, coming off of Mosshart’s stint with Jack White in The Dead Weather. Blood Pressures comes out April 5 via Domino. Meanwhile, “Satellite” is streaming on Soundcloud.

And dammit, it is sexy. Mosshart, as always, oozes buckets of appeal out of every pore in her sultry voice. “Satellite” starts with a crazy jackhammer kind of sound, and is driven by this pulsating guitar whip-crack, accompanied by a massive bassline and, of course, Mosshart’s half-coo-half-threat singing. It’s a groove that the band sinks into almost immediately. Halfway through, the song opens up into a catchy but despairing chorus, followed by a coda of woah-ohs. In all honesty, “Satellite” sounds like a machine.
