Yukon Blonde, Vancouver’s sunny power-pop band, will release its second full-length album, Tiger Talk, on March 20 via Dine Alone, but you can catch an early stream of the record in all its shiny glory below.

Working with producer Colin Stewart (Black Mountain, Ladyhawke), the group has crafted 10 quick jolts of Paisley Underground-inflected jangle pop, the audio equivalent of being swatted with one of those goofy pool noodles. Soaring multi-part harmonies, lovey-dovey lyrics, ’80s butt-rock guitar solos—there’s nothing timid about these guys, but there are moments of subtlety and melancholy amidst all the dreamy bombast. Like its Canadian power-pop forebears Sloan, the band writes neurotic, mini stadium anthems for loners, basket-cases and people who’ve seriously considered getting a Big Star tattoo.

“There’s nothing on the radio, so on you’re feet!,” sings guitarist/vocalist Jeff Innes on “Radio,” one of the album’s standout tracks. It reads like a command, but with these nice guys it’s more of an invitation, and it’s hard to resist.
