orchid-tapes

Last month we clued you in to the upcoming compilation album, Boring Ecstasy, from Brooklyn-based label Orchid Tapes, and today the label dropped the entire comp on its SoundCloud. Boring Ecstasy is 14 tracks of warm, flickering bedroom pop tunes, many of which sound like little sonic secrets.

And, up until now, many of the artists on the compilation have been secrets, or secret-ish. So do yourself a favor and familiarize yourself with the minimal synth breaths of Ricky Eat Acid, the crushed vocals of HAPPY TRENDY, the orchestral loneliness of Yohuna, the sweet snark of Infinity Crush and a string-section lullaby from one of our artists to watch this year, Elvis Depressedly. Not to mention a whole bunch more, all worth a listen. The O-Tapes record release showcase is this Saturday at Brooklyn’s Shea Stadium, if you’re in the hood. Listen to Boring Ecstasy below.
