Early last year, Jagjaguwar put out
Dreamland EP: Marimba And Shit-Drums, a 20-minute solo track from indie virtuoso Spencer Krug, who went by the name
Moonface for the project. Now, with Wolf Parade entering hiatus at the end of this month, Krug has announced that Moonface will be getting the full-length treatment, with a debut LP that drops on August 2. The record, called
Organ Music Not Vibraphone Like I’d Hoped, has a short tracklist (at five songs) but clocks in at a considerably long 37 minutes.
In a statement issued alongside the album announcement, Krug calls
Organ Music “dense, but in a satisfying way, I hope, like eating a small, heavy piece of cheesecake.” “Fast Peter,” the first track released from the album, certainly fits that description, with its eight minutes of droning organ pads and layered blips and beeps. Download the track
