Shonen Knife, the Japanese alternative rock band formed in 1981, will set out on its 30th anniversary tour this fall in North America. The tour will support Osaka Ramones, the band’s latest release and a tribute to New York’s legendary Ramones.

The Ramones has been a major musical influence on the women of Shonen Knife ever since they formed their band 30 years ago. Shonen Knife carries a pop orientation, yet it maintains a garage-rock sound complete with edgy DIY aesthetics. Stream snippets from Osaka Ramones at Good Charamel, and check below for tour dates.
