Well, it looks like Rock The Bells has found its groove. Last year, the marquee hip-hop festival series shook things up when it featured artists like Snoop Dogg and Wu-Tang Clan performing classic albums of theirs in their entirety (Doggystyle and Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), in those two cases). Now, a year later, Rock The Bells has announced that it will reprise its “classics” theme for the 2011 tour, which includes dates in San Bernardino and Mountain View, CA, as well as East Coast stops in New York and Boston.
This year’s headliners include Ms. Lauryn Hill (performing The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill), Nas (performing Illmatic) and Wu-Tang members Raekwon and Ghostface Killah (performing Raekwon’s solo debut, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx). Full-album sets will also be played by Cypress Hill (Black Sunday) and Mos Def and Talib Kweli’s collaboration, Black Star (performing its self-titled 1998 debut). The rest of the lineup includes some more album sets, as well as regular sets from Erykah Badu, Immortal Technique and Curren$y.
More artists will be announced as the festival gets closer, but the lineup so far is listed below, along with the four tour dates.
