Phil And The Osophers is planning to release a 7-inch, which will come out on May 21 on local Brooklyn label Factual Fabrications. The release features two new songs, “Figures of Speech” and “Ink On the Page” and acts as a precursor to the band’s new double album currenty being recorded. Ryan Fagman (who has worked with LCD Soundsystem, Grizzly Bear, and Sufjan) mixed the two tracks, which are much darker in nature than the group’s previous recordings.



While initially known for relatable songs about life’s everyday trials, lately Phil And The Osophers’ members have been enjoying other kinds of fame; namely drummer Kevin Estrada, who appeared on Wheel Of Fortune (he won $5100). The group will play two New York shows in the upcoming months—one at Bruar Falls on April 21, and another on May 11 at the Mercury Lounge.
