North American boogie-funk connoisseurs, here’s a head’s up—Parisian producer Onra is coming your way. The beatmaker with an inclination towards fluoro-colored (note: not nu rave) ’80s-inspired sounds, as displayed on last year’s Long Distance album, will hold down a number of shows in a few weeks’ time.

Onra will start his tour March 3 in Princetown, New Jersey, alongside Com Truise (who is reppin’ for the garden state), before meandering through a number of cities and finishing up March 15 in Vancouver with fellow boogie extraordinaire, Dam-Funk. These have been pitted as the ‘confirmed dates,’ so we’re not sure if that means that there are more to be announced, but here’s to hoping.

As well as creating reinterpretations of summer barbecue jams, Onra has also been involved with sonically delving into his own heritage via his 2007 album Chinoiseries. For this release, he scoured flea markets in Vietnam and created a LP of beats stitched together from samples of Vietnamese pop songs. The guy’s pretty innovative with his production, so his live shows should display that same sort of initiative.
