A new EP from Brooklyn indie-pop group Oberhofer will hit shelves April 23 via Glassnote. Titled NOTALGIA, the new release from the Brad Oberhofer-led project follows up the band’s 2012 debut full-length, Time Capsules II. The new songs were inspired by the drug-related death of a friend, and in a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Oberhofer explained, “In the past few years, I’ve lost some friends to things like this. In those situations, there was nothing I could have said to help them. They couldn’t have heard me if they’d tried.”

Along with the EP news, the band premiered new single “Earplugs” with RS off the upcoming release. Despite heavier content, the track is another installment of Oberhofer’s sugary, imaginative pop. Listen to the song and check out the band’s upcoming spring tour dates below.
