New Orleans bounce rapper Big Freedia, known to many as the Queen Diva Of Bounce, has just released the ridiculously absurd video to “Excuse.” Born Freddie Ross, Big Freedia is currently on her worldwide Go Homo Tour and is set to release her debut studio EP on Scion A/V later this summer. Her debut LP will follow in the fall.

Bounce is a subgenre of hip-hop that originated in New Orleans, and it is perhaps the most aptly named genre of music out there—the goal of it is truly to make you bounce, and nowhere is that mission clearer than in the video for “Excuse.” Appropriately set in a dance class, the video is more instructional than anything else—if you don’t know how to shake your booty properly by the end of it, you’ve clearly missed something. Wearing brightly colored ’80s workout gear, the dancers sweat and stretch as Big Freedia awards scores to their moves and raps, “Excuse/I don’t mean to be rude/But give me that mic, let me do what I do.” For a chance to see what she can really do, watch the video above or check her out on tour.
