Jim James and his crew of celestial rockers in My Morning Jacket have announced an upcoming album titled Circuital. For the forthcoming release, the band traveled back to its place of origin, Louisville, KY. Not only is this where the band formed but it is also the hometown of three of the five members. Recorded entirely live in a church gymnasium and leaving room for a lot of spontaneity, this album should show the group going in a new direction yet again. The exact release date has yet to be announced.

The group will also be pulling out some moves borrowed from Kanye West. Jim James obnoxiously Twittering every six minutes about how much he rules? No. Weekly free song giveaways? Hell yea. The band, following in the footsteps of West’s G.O.O.D. Friday series, will be doing free track giveaways every week for the next six weeks. The first five weeks will feature songs taken from the group’s legendary week of shows at New York’s Terminal 5. Each night of that week, the band played one of its five albums in its entirety. A live rendition of “Butch Cassidy” from The Tennessee Fire is available now, and the sixth week of track releases features a song from the upcoming Circuital. The full song release schedule is listed on the band’s website.

The group will be dominating the music festival circuit this spring and summer. Check below for the list of shows.
