Mr. Dream will join Nick Thorburn, (Islands/The Unicorns), Ryan Kattner (Man Man) and Joe Plummer (Modest Mouse), the three who make up Mister Heavenly, on a North American tour. That is, after Mr. Dream finishes some very important business, ahem, playing the 2011 CMJ Music Marathon & Film Festival. Those not familiar with Mr. Dream need to stop snoozing and get with it. The trio of rockers operates out of Brooklyn and plays a very grunge-tinged sort of punk. Close your eyes and you can almost hear Nirvana’s Krist Novoselic thumping away on bass.

MONEYBAGS – HOT NEW BACK-TO-SCHOOL SINGLE by MRDREAMNYC

The band’s clearly got a lotta love for the Seinfeld era; singer and guitarist Adam Moerder must have Pavement’s Slanted And Enchanted on infinite repeat, so easily can he slip into Stephen Malkmus’ sing/talk style and back out to punk-volume vocals. The trio will play 17 shows with Mister Heavenly across the East and West, returning finally to New York. Mister Heavenly’s got a much gentler touch so the two bands together will be like a musical yin and yang. Check below for chances to be caressed and then kicked in the face.
