The Saint Of Anger, Metallica, has announced the lineup for its second annual Orion Music And More Festival. Taking place on Belle Isle in Detroit, MI, the event will take place June 8 and 9 with headliners the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rise Against, Deftones, Bassnectar and, yes, Metallica. Other acts for the weekend include Detroit legends the Dirtbombs, Death and Battlecross as well as a mixed bag of Japandroids, Gogol Bordello, the Orwells, FIDLAR, the Joy Formidable and Death Grips, among others. Tickets will go on sale to the public March 1 at 10 a.m. EST through the festival’s website.
Discussing the fest’s move from Atlantic City to Detroit, drummer and longtime Napster fan Lars Ulrich says, “I can think of no better place than the Motor City, with its rich and diverse history of music, for the second ride on our Orion festival train. Bring it the fuck on!” The festivities will also include a variety of activities related to their personal interests, including James Hetfield’s Custom Car And Motorcycle Show, Kirk Hammett’s Crypt, Lars Ulrich’s Hit The Lights Film Tent and Robert Trujillo’s Vans Vert Ramp alongside the Metallica Museum.
