Franco-Spanish world musician Manu Chao, known internationally for his multilingual pop songs as well as for his tendency to turn an audience into a sweaty riot of thousands, is making his return to North America with his ‘La Ventura’ tour. Starting in Boston, the tour will include Chao’s first-ever performances in Miami, Charlotte and Atlanta, and will finish with a co-headlining spot at the Austin City Limits Festival in September.
Chao, whose sound is influenced by everything from traditional Latin music to punk rock, released his last record, a double live CD/DVD set titled Baionarena, in 2009. Recorded live in Bayonne, France, it features not only the concert and its thirty-three tracks, but also a fair amount of bonus content, including music videos from his 2007 album La Radiolina, exclusive photos, and a behind-the-scenes tour diary that follows Chao and his band, Radio Bemba, as they make their way around the world on tour.
