Starting in October, electronic shoegazer Anthony Gonzalez will take his M83 project on the road for a month-long North American tour. These will be Gonzalez and co.’s first live performances in more than two years, ever since they played opener to the likes of the Killers, Kings Of Leon and Depeche Mode, way back in 2008 and 2009. This time, though, things have changed: it’s 2011, and M83 is now the marquee act.

M83 hasn’t released an LP since 2008′s Saturdays=Youth, but Gonzalez has reportedly been at work in the studio on a new double album that’s rumored to be coming out later this year. Last week, he sort of confirmed that by posting a short but grandiose video on his website that hinted at the new release but was short on details. All it said was that the record is coming “soon.” Check out the video, as well as the upcoming tour dates, below.
