We knew that Angel Haze could could spit words a mile a minute, but who knew that the pint-size fem-cee could sing just as smoothly? The Detroit native showcases her versatility in “I Love You,” a new track with award-winning film director Yoann Lemoine (he’s directed music videos for Lana Del Rey, Taylor Swift, Drake, and Katy Perry), who also sings under the moniker Woodkid. The song was originally released on Woodkid’s debut album, The Golden Age. The awe-inspiring black and white video for the original cut of “I Love You” has already amassed over 3 million views on YouTube since it was released in February, so it’s a good bet the new version (with the added bonus of internet darling Angel Haze) will be an insta-success.

This version of “I Love You” finds Woodkid employing an alluring, smokey timbre alongside Angel Haze’s innocent patter. “Is there anything I could do to get some attention from you?” he croons, as Haze recoils with “I just want you to make me a part of you.” With rebuttals so endearing, we’re not sure who deserves the blame for this impending heartbreak. The track will be featured on his upcoming EP of the same title on June 17. You can expect remixes from Pharrell and Brodinski. Check out I Love You below:
