Willis-Earl-Beal
In recent months, Willis Earl Beal has packed his bags and left New York City, as well as his longtime label XL Recordings, to self-release his future material from a rural home in Washington state. His self-imposed isolation from the mainstream music industry has led to some interesting tracks, like the gently hazy Traveling Eyes. And that’s continued this morning with the release of Until We Die off his upcoming album, Experiments In Time. The track is an extremely minimalist effort, almost bare, featuring just a heavily effected organ and Beal’s own powerful vocals, which veer a little more towards the operatic side of things than usual. Listen to the experimental lo-fi soulman’s latest below.
