Chelsea Wolfe’s new single from her upcoming album Pain Is Beauty uses composition and repetition in an aurally pleasing fashion.

The only constant throughout The Waves Have Come is the back and forth putter of a piano. As the track continues it starts to flesh out naturally opening up a musical landscape created by Wolfe. At times it brings up memories of Bat For Lashes’ The Haunted Man. It’s quite the statement and may signal one whirlwind of an album. Wolfe will return to Sargent House to release Pain Is Beauty on September 3. Stream The Waves Have Come (via Fader), below.
