You may remember Natural Child as one the Nashville bands listed in our Scene Report from fellow garage-rock revivalists Turbo Fruits, or you might’ve heard its wild, boogie-ready, Lil Wayne-referencing single “B$G P$MP$N”, but did you know the group also has a sensitive side? Well, it does. On the track “Mother Nature’s Daughter,” due out tomorrow as part of a 7″ from Jeffery Drag Records but available to stream below, the often raucous group shows it can write a killer bummer song with the best of ‘em.

Natural Child – Mother Nature’s Daughter by audibletreats

Over a chugging Neil Young-like guitar part, the band describes a bleak world where the Mother Nature of the title is “on the run,” though I’m not sure from what. Pollution? Global warming? Guitar solos? That might be it because as the song reaches its climax, you hear a withering, gnarled guitar attack that hits like a harsh wind.

Natural Child has a long string of tour dates lined up for the fall, which are available below. In addition to the 7″, the band will be releasing a full-length, titled Hard In Heaven, that comes out September 11 on Burger Records.
