Three of modern music’s greatest drummers, Janet Weiss, Matt Cameron, and Zach Hill, met in a Portland studio to record a drum-centric LP. The album, appropriately entitled Drumgasm, is nearly 40 minutes of free-flowing jams from the trio. It’s a display of rare talent with limited boundaries, at times it sounds as though they’re battling each other in a similar way MCs or turntablists do.

The trio’s resumes are impressive with Weiss previously a member of Sleater-Kinney, now a member of Wild Flag, and Quasi, Cameron from Pearl Jam and Soundgarden and Hill behind Hella and most notably, Death Grips. Drumgasm will be released on August 27 via Jackpot, but you can stream the album in its entirety (via Spin), below.
