Detroit rapper Danny Brown is known for his hyperactive delivery and his even wilder sense of style, but on a new song “Change” he shows off a more low-key, reflective side. The track comes from the highly anticipated Danny Johnson album, a collaborative project between Brown and the duo Johnson&Jonson (consisting of rapper Blu and producer Mainframe) due out later this year, and it finds Brown rapping over a buoyant, blissed-out beat.

The verses feature Brown delivering casual boasts about how much weed he smokes and his sexual prowess, but in the chorus he gets more contemplative, looking at how money and fame have changed how people perceive him. “Look how it all can change/Things change start getting some change,” he raps as the beat bubbles behind him.
