One of the darkest of rock dames, Chelsea Wolfe, has announced the release of her third album, Pain Is Beauty, out September 3 via Sargent House. The album’s first single The Warden, suggests Wolfe is still snuggled up in the afghan of dusk under which she’s written all of her albums thus far.

In The Warden however, Wolfe has found the synth to be the perfect accessory to those achingly pretty coos that have marked her with the “angelic witch” tag. At this point it’s almost unchaste to think of her any other way, and given the way the song’s murky beat mingles with Wolfe’s silky vocals, it looks like she doesn’t want us to. Listen to The Warden below and catch the singer on tour this fall.
