After sharing a string of promising mixtapes and EPs, eclectic British singer and producer Kwes is primed to release his debut LP, ilp, on October 15 via Warp. To go along with his announcement, Kwes has unveiled ilp‘s first single, 36.
 
In accordance with his shy demeanor, Kwes’s forthcoming LP’s title and tracklist are all written in lowercase. Notwithstanding, nothing about 36 is reserved; it’s a stunningly bright, attention-grabbing, love song. However, the detailed affection in 36 isn’t shared by Kwes and his lover. Rather, over ethereal synths, a riveting bassline and a reverberated kick drum, Kwes depicts his love for his grandparents his admiration for the love they share. One could only speculate, then, that the track is titled after the length of his grandparent’s marriage. Check out “36,” as well as lip‘s completely lowercase tracklist, below.
