As the folks at Stereogum point out, in The Knife’s recent interview for Dazed And Confused, the band took the opportunity to announce the end of the project. The infectious Swedish experimental electronic duo will call it quits at the end of their current tour, which will wrap up at Reykjavik’s Iceland Airwaves Festival in November. Karin Dreijer told Dazed, “We don’t have any obligations to continue, it should only and always be for fun.”
 
Regarding the band members future plans, Karin Dreijer said she will think about what comes next when The Knife’s last run is over, whereas Olof Dreijer spoke enthusiastically about his plans to mix and produce an album by Afrodub artist Houwaida Hedfi.
