Last night Kid Cudi released his short film “Maniac” starring him and rapper Cage. The video, which was directed by Shia LaBeouf, is an extension of the song “Maniac” that appeared on Cudi’s Man On The Moon II: The Legend Of Mr. Rager. Earlier this summer the trailer for the mini-movie was released and garnered a good response when it hit the Internet. The 10-minute film begins with Cudi and Cage sitting in a restaurant speaking in another language (French, perhaps?) about their plan to do “eight each” while knowingly being filmed by a camera crew.

Hack eight computers, sleep with eight women, drink eight kegs of beer—they don’t say, but you’ll find out. Either way, the acting isn’t too shabby, and we wouldn’t be surprised if LaBeouf bites the Clint Eastwood apple and does more behind the camera. LaBeouf sat down with MTV News in June and spoke about how the project originated saying, “[Cage] is one of my good friends. Cudi hit [Cage] up and did a song with him. Cage sent me the song, called ‘Maniac,’ so initially, we started prepping this video, which is really like a short horror movie that I made that comes out on Halloween.”
