New York’s own Hooray For Earth has confirmed the release of its much anticipated debut LP, True Loves, for May 3. This Dovecote full-length is a follow-up the band’s acclaimed 2010 EP Momo. The mixing of psychedelic melodies with catchy hooks and pounding percussion should categorize the band as one of the indie-rock groups to watch out for this year.

Hooray For Earth has an intense touring schedule planned for the next three months, with shoegaze extraordinaires A Place To Bury Strangers and twee rockers the Concretes, including a four-show stop at SXSW in Austin. There can easily be worry that a meticulous band like Hooray For Earth won’t properly translate its extremely full and orchestrated studio sound into a live performance setting, however, the video below proves that the band can still bring the same intensity to the stage without all of the fancy fixings of the studio.
