Passion Pit has given a little taste of their upcoming album Gossamer today with first single “Take A Walk,” a blooming serenade about a couple’s struggle to find domestic bliss. The opening track to the 12-song LP, set to be released July 24 via Columbia, is a wordy dance track that keeps in line with the anthemic ballads on the group’s last release, Manners.
“Tonight I swear I’ll come home and we’ll make love like we’re young/And tomorrow you’ll cook dinner for the neighbors and their kids/We can rip apart those socialists and all their damn taxes,” sings Michael Angelakos. The song shows Angelakos wasn’t kidding about the new album having a greater emphasis on lyrics. Stream the cheery track, below.
