Is Gucci really insane in the membrane?

Mixtape maniac, rapper and t-shirt star Gucci Mane has been committed to a mental institution in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. Access Atlanta reports that he has been committed to the 111-bed Anchor Hospital, following the filing of a “Special Plea Of Mental Incompetency” by his attorney yesterday.



Gucci was appearing in court due to alleged violation of his probation, a hearing that resulted in the judge recommending jail time. Sources report that he told the court he was unable to “intelligently participate in the probation revocation hearing.”



Gucci will remain at the facility while his mental condition is assessed; his incarceration is pending on the forthcoming findings.
