‘Tis the season for eggnog, ugly sweaters, fruitcake, awkward political conversations with your uncles, and, I guess, weird Grizzly Bear videos. Yesterday the Brooklyn art-rock group released a charming six minute video of seemingly holiday related images—gifts, trees, families, dogs, tomatoes—set to piano-based versions of tracks from the band’s 2012 release Shields. The clip features snippets of “Half Gate,” “Sleeping Ute” and “The Hunt.” The band’s Ed Droste called it “smooth” on Twitter and I’m finding it hard to disagree.
