Last night, the 55th Grammy Award nominations were revealed, and, as is often the case, the list included many former CMJ Music Marathon performers (Gotye, Janelle Monae, Mumford And Sons) and artists that have topped the CMJ charts (Black Keys, M83). The awards will take place on February 10 in Los Angeles and air on CBS.

The big winner, as far as nominations go, was singer Frank Ocean, who racked up nominations in six different categories: Album Of The Year, Record Of The Year, Best New Artist, Best Urban Contemporary Album, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration and Best Short Form Music Video. Ocean responded to the good news as many of us would: with an emoji.

But Ocean wasn’t the only one to rack up six nominations. Perennial CMJ chart-dominators Black Keys look like they’ll be adding even more accomplishments to their mantle. The band picked up nominations for Album Of The Year, Record Of The Year, Best Rock Performance, Best Rock Song, Best Rock Album and Producer Of The Year for Dan Auerbach.

The Black Keys and Ocean will face off against ubiquitous mega-hit “Somebody That I Used To Know” from CMJ 2011 performer Gotye and CMJ 2012 all-star Kimbra in the Record Of The Year category. But they’ll also be doing battle with CMJ performer Janelle Monáe, who lent an assist to fun.’s own monster hit “We Are Young.”

CMJ alumni Mumford And Sons also look poised to possibly pull off a big Arcade Fire-style victory in the Album Of The Year category. And the possibility for a “Who Is Bon Iver?”-style upset certainly exists in the Best New Artist competition with Alabama Shakes and the Lumineers facing off against Hunter Hayes, fun. and Mr. Ocean himself.
