Today, Giraffes frontman Aaron Lazar announced his amicable departure from the band. Lazar, who—although he suffered from two heart attacks in 2005—has never let his serious health scares stifle his work with the group, will perform in his last show with the band on February 5 at the Mercury Lounge in New York City.

In March Crustacean Records will release RULED, a previously-unreleased album of the heavy liquored-up rock for which Lazar and company is known. While this retrospective celebrates his career with the Giraffes, the band has not called it quits. Rather, it’s in the process of auditioning new singers who can guzzle a beer and still take a sweet sucker punch like a man, and keep up with songs like the one below.
