The mother of all indie super-groups, Gayngs, will set off on a festival-heavy tour this coming spring to play its smooth but yet unexpected rendition of ’80s soft rock. While on the road the band will be hitting up Coachella, SXSW and Sasquatch. The list of the members expected to show up is huge. Justin Vernon and Mike Noyce of Bon Iver, Ryan Olson, Zak Coulter and Adam Hurlburt of Solid Gold, Jake Luck of Leisure Birds, Ivan Rosebud of The Rosebuds, Brad Cook and Joe Westerlund of Megafaun, and Mike Lewis of Andrew Bird and Happy Apple all should be sharing the stage.

A group like Gayngs (that is made up of 25 people all from various bands that perform and record regularly) might at first be expected to only produce some studio gold and then move on. Gayngs, however, has already established itself as putting on stellar lives shows. It was believed that last fall’s tour would be the one and only chance to see the group live, and at the time it looked like it would end on a sad note. The last show of that tour had to be cancelled because Gayngs’ bus driver drove away with all of the band’s equipment allegedly due to an unpaid bill. No doubt Gayngs and its fans will be praying to avoid a repeat performance this spring. The tour dates as well as a video of the band playing “Faded High” are below.
