Los Angeles-based trio Foster The People has announced a second leg to its North American tour, extending its dates from April to early July. After a successful run on the festival circuit at this year’s SXSW, the group has included dates at both Coachella and Sasquatch this spring, and is slated to perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live upon the release of its debut full-length, Torches, on May 24.
Formed in 2009, Foster The People consists of keyboardist/guitarist/singer Mark Foster, bassist Cubbie Fink and drummer Mark Pontius. The group made its debut in January with the release of its self-titled EP, featuring “Helena Beat,” “Houdini” and “Pumped Up Kicks,” which has made it into the Top 10 of alternative radio charts. The trio kept busy at SXSW, playing multiple showcases and garnering plenty of media attention, making it one of the bands to watch this year.
The second leg of Foster The People’s tour begins with its date in Coachella and travels east and back, ending in Tucson, AZ.
