Canada, eh? Our neighbors up north have awarded Feist‘s Metals with the 2012 Polaris Music Prize.
The award is given to the best Canadian album of the year and comes with a $30,000 prize. The acclaimed singer-songwriter was reportedly so shocked by her win that she hid under a table before being presented with her check by Arcade Fire’s Jeremy Gara and Tim Kingsbury.
Other nominees included Japandroids‘ Celebration Rock, Grimes‘ Visions and Drake’s Take Care. The runners-up will each receive $2,000.
