New York City’s East Village Radio, an acclaimed online purveyor of underground and independent music, is venturing into new territory with the addition of an in-house record label, EVR Records (not to be confused with hard-rock label Equal Vision Records). The station is launching a single of the month club, with the monthly release that’s selected by a station DJ.
On March 7, EVR Records will release it’s first single, a 7-inch of “Sun In The Island” by UK band Swimming. The single, off Swimming’s upcoming album, tentatively titled Ecstatics International, will be released both digitally and on vinyl.
Since its inception in 2003, East Village Radio’s profile has grown significantly, and this announcement only serves to increase it.
