Starting October 1, L.A.’s alt-scene queens the Dum Dum Girls will be taking North America and Europe by the balls to promote the September 27 release of its second full-length album, Only In Dreams. Producer Richard Gottehrer, who worked on the debuts by Blondie and the Go-Go’s as well as the Dum Dum Girls’ first album, I Will Be, returned to lend his girl-band expertise on Only In Dreams alongside Raveonettes guitarist/vocalist Sune Rose Wagner.

According to leading lady Dee Dee Penny (also known as Kristin Gundred), Only In Dreams contains a bevy of personal information with a focus on the death of her mother and her relationship with husband Brandon Welchez of Crocodiles. Dee Dee wrote about her mother, the young woman featured on the covers of the Dum Dum Girls’ self-titled debut EP and I Will Be, on tracks like “Hold Your Hand,” which Dee Dee wrote after her mother was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Thankfully, the other dark issue Dee Dee confronts on the upcoming album—being away from her husband—will be rectified in the near future: Crocodiles will join the Dum Dum Girls on the road across North America, allowing Welchez and Penny to stick together.

The tour starts south of their home base in San Diego, CA, and ends six weeks later in London. in between, the Dum Dum Girls will hit cities in the U.S., Canada and Europe, including Amsterdam’s London Calling Festival. See below for a full list of dates.
